ITC conference grants

What is an ITC Conference grant?

The LITHME COST Action can provide a Conference Grant to young researchers and innovators (under the age of 40) from COST Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC) and Near Neighbour Country (NNC) for a presentation of their own work at high-level conferences.

The applicant should make an oral/poster presentation at the conference in question and should be listed in the official conference program. The main subject of the oral presentation / poster presentation / speech at the approved conference must be on the topic of the Action and should acknowledge COST.

Financial support is limited to cover travelling, accommodation and subsistence expenses, registration fee, printing of scientific poster, and is paid in the form of a Grant after the submission of:

  • Report (report template here)
  • the certificate of attendance
  • the programme of the conference or book of abstracts / proceedings indicating the presentation (oral or poster) of the grantee
  • copy of the given presentation (oral or poster)

ITC – Inclusiveness Target Countries include:

Full Members that are EU Member States: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia

EU Member States Outermost Regions: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey

Full Members that are not EU Member States: French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte, Reunion Island and Saint-Martin (France), Azores and Madeira (Portugal), and the Canary Islands (Spain)

COST Near Neighbor Countries (NNC) include:

Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Jordan, Kosovo2, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, [Russia – subject to confirmation by the EC], Syria, Tunisia and Ukraine

How to apply?

In order to apply for the ITC conference grant, the applicant should create a Conference Grant request by logging into e-COST (https://e-services.cost.eu) and clicking on the ITC Conference Grants tab, then fill the application and upload the following documents:

• Application form (template available here: https://www.cost.eu/ITCConference_GrantApplication)

• Copy of the abstract of the accepted oral or poster presentation;

• Acceptance letter from the conference organisers;

Up to a maximum of EUR 2 000 for face-to-face conference or EUR 500 for virtual conference can be afforded to each successful applicant. .
